High School Update
Update time! We're finishing the first semester (half) of the year soon. Here's what I've done, or haven't.
Rebellious High School Activities:
I have not done anything illegal (at least, that I can remember.). I have not gotten any tattoos or gave myself a piercing. I also have not gotten involved with drugs! I'm doing pretty well.
Grades/Classes:
I dropped out of math class. I'm procrastinating at Big Picture, but so far everything's been working out pretty well (somehow I'm still doing better than quite a lot of my classmates and all I do is fold paper stars, literally 80% of the time). BP doesn't give grades but I am doing pretty well in communications (like LA) and community based learning.
South Burlington High School As A Whole:
It is a 3 story school, which I learned like, last week, and I have not gone up or down any stairs yet. I have gone outside though, and did a lap around the school. I have also only been in 2 real classrooms. So far, I know about 20 kids in the school, and 5.5 adults (the half an adult is the vice principal, because I know he looks like the lorax but I don't remember his name). I have not had any cafeteria experience.
Teachers/Advisors:
I've been driving Jim and Michelle absolutely crazy, I'm sure. Kevin has been driving me absolutely crazy because he talks to me when I'm too quiet and alone. Obnoxious. On top of not really being productive, I also like to lay on the floor, fold paper stars, and complain about how much work I have to do. I take breaks frequently. So far the biggest consequence has been a passive aggressive comment from Michelle, and I make fun of her enough for it to be okay.
Classmates:
I am still scared of like 40% of them, but I think we're bonding. I went swing dancing with one of the intimidating ones and we were both pretty uncomfortable which was good. Some of them are starting to annoy me, which is wonderful and a lot like the coop. I think I've probably started to annoy most of them, too.
Anyway, there's your halfway update. I still don't understand the way hallways or schedules or attendance works, but I know a full 5 and a half adults so I think I'm doing great!
