Some Lists About Fear

Some unusual fears I have:
  • Albino spiders
  • Most animals that live in the water (except sharks)
  • Losing an arm from the shoulder down
  • Losing a leg from the hip down
  • Pronouncing a word wrong in front of people
  • Submitting assignments to teachers while in the same room as them
  • Driving with people I don't know very well
  • SLUGS.
Some fears that most people have but I just sorta don't:
  • Losing a limb from the elbow/knee down in a car crash
  • Spiders (I am afraid of the white ones though)
  • Heights
  • Bats
  • Snakes
  • Rats/mice
Things that start with D that conservative Christian slightly-older-than-middle-aged adults are maybe probably afraid of:
  • Debt
  • Death
  • Deadlines
  • Divorce
  • Danger
  • Drunk drivers
  • Demons (?)
  • Drag queens
  • Diversity
  • Drug dealers

It's the middle of Tech Week , so I don't really have time to read, but I managed to finish Emergency Contact by M. H. K. Choi anyway, because it's extremely overdue. This book is literally just Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl. No joke. Rainbow Rowell actually blurbed it ("blurbed" is totally a word, right?), and I can see why she liked it- it's basically just her own book. The main character, Penny, is a bit of a sort of awkward, introverted nerd, but still decently pretty. She's heading off into her freshman year of college. Her roommate and her roommate's bestfriend are both pretty and extroverted and fond of pushing Penny into social situations. Penny meets a guy. They text a lot. And also, she has a broken relationship with her mother and is writing a big thing because she is at college to be a writer. So yeah, it's just pretty much Fangirl . It's finally time for another edition of "What's Delilah Been Reading?"! After reading approximately 1 book in 3 months, Librarian Lisa knocked some sense into me and I finished 3 books over break. To quickly talk about the other two: Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introverts Story - D. Tung This one's a small little graphic novel! It's short, but adorable and was nicely relatable, though straighter than I was hoping for. (Don't) Call Me Crazy- 33 Voices Start the Conversation about Mental Health - K. Jensen This was a collection of pieces from different authors about their experiences with mental health. Some parts were kind of boring, and I think it needed more poetry. The main reason I read it was because Adam Silvera had a piece in it. His piece was amazing. I love Adam Silvera. Also, the rest was pretty good. But! Back to the point. Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World

Guys. I just finished reading Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World . This book made me cry like 7 times. Not pretty crying.This "juvenile" book made me cry more than the Fault in our Stars did. It just feels so young and real and scared but hopeful, and honestly, dgkhsJFKSKYSHKG I have to buy this.
