Harvest Market
Harvest market is something special. I'm not usually a huge fan of large crowds, but there's something kind of magical about how a place transforms once it's full of people. The street I drive down on the way to school becomes full of life. Tents and signs dot the sides of the road, people fill the sidewalk, and the air smells of food. Booths cover the field, lining up in perfectly planned rows. It's interesting, how a spot usually so quiet becomes an odd sort of festival.
The Coop had a booth, selling (by donation) bike powered smoothies and upcycled glasses. I liked being able to have a home base, and stay at the market, just watching people and existing in the middle of a place full of life. I'd be lying if I said I didn't also stay to get to hang out with some Coop kids.
Vermont Youth Dancers danced in the parade, and it was the closest I've came in a while to having fun. I enjoyed myself. We danced the chorus to the finale, shouting "Five six seven eighT!" before breaking out into choreography in the middle off the street. We also danced a swing dance, just once or twice (which I secretly kind of love.)
For those of you that haven't heard, the VYD show this year is Narnia! I'm playing Tumnus (but female!) which is pretty exciting.
Anyway, it was a pretty good weekend, and I love Harvest Market.
